as it begins a new chapter focusing on creating Broadcast Documentaries,
Visual Heritage Projects and publishing historical reports on the History of Film
and Television Production over the past 40 years. Whether it's designing digital art and motion graphics, or producing award-winning feature news stories and documentaries Main Sail has always been a leader in the television industry.

ILENE SAFRON
Producer/Director
Ilene began her career at ABC Network News in New York. Her first assignment was carrying Barbara Walters mink coat and assisting with research and scripts for “The Evening News with Harry Reasoner and Barbara Walters”. She went on to be a special assignment researcher and assistant field producer for "ABC World News Tonight.” After relocating to Southwest Florida, she joined the CBS affiliate in Fort Myers, Florida, and then was hired by the NBC affiliate in Tampa, where she was a sports and news videographer. She later joined the team at "Tampa Bay
PM Magazine" as a segment producer and videographer. This was the first of many jobs that paid her to travel and take pictures worldwide.
With an eye for capturing the moment and the creative talent to add the flair, Producer/Director Ilene Safron relies on her vivid pictures to tell the story. She is one of the first female videographers in the United States and owner of Main Sail Media, an Emmy award-winning multi-media company based in Southwest Florida.
Ilene earned her Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Connecticut, where she majored in Environmental Biology and minored in television production and bio-photography. She is currently working on her memoir, recalling 40 years of exciting assignments, including covering eight U.S. presidents and hundreds of famous sports and entertainment legends.
